Evaluating a domain

Author: Leo Kobes Published: Updated: Product information last verified: 22 July 2026

You evaluate a ReCatch domain in four blocks: name and target audience, history and backlinks, legal aspects, and costs and project idea. No single figure or metric replaces this check – not even at a fixed price of 25 € net.

Domain check categories: name and TLD, history, backlinks, trademark law, costs

Block 1: name, clarity and target audience

Block 2: history and backlinks

Interpreting metrics correctly

TF, CF, DR, DA and similar figures are third-party metrics. No single value proves quality: a high value can result from spam, and a low one does not rule out a good domain idea. Historical backlinks can disappear, and search engines are not obliged to carry old signals over to a new project.

Block 3: legal aspects

Block 4: costs and project idea

Structured instead of gut feeling

The local domain check guides you through exactly these points and shows you what is still open – without transferring data, without a claimed "domain value" and without a purchase recommendation. For the moment of purchase itself: ReCatch checklist.
