Privacy policy
This privacy policy informs you which personal data is processed when you visit deinrecatch.de – and which is deliberately not. Short version: this website uses no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel and no ad networks. The only optional feature is a one-time hint about DomainCatcher.com when you leave the page, which only becomes active after your consent via the consent banner. All guide tools run entirely in your browser.
1. Controller
Byte Media GmbH
Leo Kobes
Beethovengasse 4-6, Lokal 6

Email: seo@byte.at · Phone: +43 660 1493040
2. Hosting and server log files
When you visit the website, the hosting server automatically processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer URL, browser type and operating system. This processing is necessary for delivering the website and defending against attacks (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – legitimate interest in secure operation). Log files are stored by the hosting provider as a processor and deleted after a short period, usually within a few weeks at the latest, unless a security-relevant incident requires longer retention.
3. Local tools: domain check and calculator
The domain check and the portfolio cost calculator process your input exclusively locally in your browser. No transmission to our server or to third parties takes place, no input is stored, and no domain names are placed in cookies or other storage mechanisms.
4. Consent banner and cookie
On your first visit, a banner shows the categories "technically necessary", "statistics" and "marketing". We store your choice in a cookie named dr_consent (content: version, timestamp, chosen categories; legal basis for storage: section 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act or Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR for demonstrating consent). The "statistics" category contains Google Analytics 4 (see item 5). The "marketing" category contains exactly one service: the hint about DomainCatcher.com when you leave the page (see item 6). If you decline "marketing" or only select "technically necessary", this hint never appears. You can change your choice at any time via the "Consent settings" link in the footer.
5. Google Analytics 4
Only after your explicit consent to the "statistics" category do we use Google Analytics 4, a reach measurement service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics helps us understand which pages are used and which content should be improved. Before your consent, no script from Google is loaded, no connection to googletagmanager.com or google-analytics.com is established, and no Google Analytics cookies are set: through Google Consent Mode, the analytics state is initially set to "denied" and is only updated to "granted" after your active consent. Measurement ID: G-1LT0K3M4D0. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Cookies used: among others _ga and _ga_<container ID>. No form entries, no domain names entered into local tools, no API keys and no other sensitive or identifying content are transmitted to Google Analytics. Processing by Google may also take place in the USA or other third countries; Google has committed to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and further safeguards. You can revoke your consent at any time via the "Consent settings" link in the footer; already-set Google Analytics cookies on this domain will then be removed. Further information: Google's current privacy notice.
6. Exit-intent hint about DomainCatcher.com
Only after you consent to the "marketing" category, the website shows a one-time hint about current ReCatch domains and the Redomain feature on DomainCatcher.com when you leave the page (moving the mouse out of the browser window at the top). We store locally in your browser only (localStorage entry dr_exit_offer_seen) that you have already seen this hint – no cookie, no data transmitted to DomainCatcher or third parties, no tracking of your behavior. As a result, the hint permanently appears only once per browser. The link to DomainCatcher.com in this hint contains UTM parameters (see item 7) and is marked rel="sponsored", since an economic relationship exists (see item 8).
7. External links to DomainCatcher
This website links to DomainCatcher.com. Clicking such a link takes you away from deinrecatch.de; from then on, the privacy policy of that provider applies. Our links contain UTM parameters (e.g. utm_source=deinrecatch), which merely tell the target provider that the visit came from this website – they contain no personal data. In addition, your browser may technically transmit the referrer URL; we limit this through a restrictive referrer policy (strict-origin-when-cross-origin).
8. Economic relationship
There is an economic relationship between the operator of this website and DomainCatcher (details: transparency page). Using our links creates no additional cost for you; no personal data is transmitted by us to DomainCatcher for this purpose.
9. No further services
This website uses no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no external consent platform, no Google Fonts, no embedded DomainCatcher widgets, no contact form and no user accounts. Fonts and all resources are loaded locally or as system fonts. The author photo and the image in the exit-intent hint are served from our own domain (deinrecatch.de), not from third-party providers.
10. Recipients
The recipient of technical data is our hosting provider as a processor. We do not transfer data to third countries. There are further recipients only if you actively contact us (in which case our email provider receives the message) or if legal obligations require it.
11. Retention periods
Server log files: short-term (see item 2). Email correspondence: as long as necessary for handling your request and any statutory retention obligations. The consent cookie dr_consent: a maximum of 180 days, or until you delete it. The localStorage entry dr_exit_offer_seen: until you clear your browser storage.
12. Legal bases
Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest: operation and security), Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent for the "marketing" category), and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (handling your requests).
13. Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw any consent given at any time with future effect. To do so, contact seo@byte.at.
14. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde), Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.
15. Changes
We adjust this policy when the website, the services used or the legal situation change. Last updated: 22 July 2026.
