Proceeds & share

With Redomain there are two separate monetization situations with different share models: general monetization with currently 50 % profit share, and the later sale via ReCatch with currently 15 € as a fixed share. The two are not paid out together, and neither situation is guaranteed.

Situation 1: general Redomain monetization

If DomainCatcher achieves a general monetization of the domain – for instance a sale via its own channels – a share of currently 50 percent of the profit is provided. The amount is credited to your DC prepaid balance at DomainCatcher.

Situation 2: later sale via ReCatch

If a Redomain domain is not monetized otherwise, it passes through the Redemption Grace Period and is offered at a fixed price via ReCatch on the final RGP day. If a buyer acquires it there, you as the previous holder currently receive a fixed share of 15 euros.

Do not confuse the two

These are different monetization situations. You are not paid "50 % plus 15 €" – depending on the actual monetization path, it is one or the other, or nothing at all if no monetization succeeds.

What happens without monetization?

There is no guarantee of sale. If the domain is neither generally monetized nor acquired via ReCatch, it may ultimately drop as usual – in which case there are no proceeds and no share. In any case, the domain no longer belongs to you; the handover was irrevocable.

Taxes

How a share of proceeds is treated for tax purposes depends on the individual case – for instance on whether you act privately or commercially. deinrecatch.de does not provide tax advice; clarify the treatment with a tax professional.

The current rules on DomainCatcher.com are always authoritative (this information as of 22 July 2026).
