ReCatch for publishers
For publisher and affiliate projects, one thing matters most with a ReCatch domain: does the domain's topic fit content you can do better than the existing competition? A keyword domain alone generates no traffic.
Topic relevance and search intent
Check what search intents the domain name and history suggest – information, comparison, purchase? An affiliate project needs commercial intents with a realistic search volume, and a niche where you can hold your own in terms of content.
Content depth and affiliate suitability
Plan before the purchase what content will carry the project: your own tests and experience, genuine comparison criteria, ongoing updates. Choose products and affiliate programs that fit the target audience – and label advertising and affiliate links clearly. Thin, interchangeable content works neither for users nor for search engines.
Legal requirements and privacy
- Legal notice and provider identification from day one.
- Advertising disclosure: disclose affiliate links and partnerships transparently.
- Privacy: tracking and affiliate cookies only with effective consent; keep the privacy policy up to date.
- Trademark law: check product and brand names in the domain and content – see trademark check.
Measurement plan and renewal decision
Define before launch what you will use to measure success: indexing, rankings for core topics, clicks, conversions. Set yourself a review point – for instance before the first renewal – and decide based on the data whether the project continues. This way the domain doesn't become a silent ongoing burden in the portfolio; see also cleaning up your portfolio.
Monetization risks
Affiliate programs change commissions or shut down, search engine updates shift traffic, and AI answers reduce clicks to pure information pages. Factor these risks in and, where possible, build your own channels (newsletter, direct user relationships).
